My car is in the shop, spending many days away to get its oil well (it’s way past leak) fixed.  I decided to get a little exercise and walk to work yesterday.  There’s not much exciting stuff to look at during a 3 mile walk in suburbia, but I always find a little something.

It’s a good thing I saw the banana peel before slipping on it.  Can that really work on a textured sidewalk?  I’ll have to look for that episode on Mythbusters.  I like the faded zebra.  I should have kept it.  The best one of these is the wrapping paper that is flipping me off.  Never had that happen before.

But this is the one that intrigued me the most.  It’s a torn up softball that was laying in the middle of the sidewalk.  I took a few photos of it, and I knew right away that I would have to paint this… digitally.

I used My Brushes on my iPad, but the pro version keeps crashing.  I hope they fix it, as it’s a great app, and I’ve seen nothing remotely close to it.

Here are the two paintings I created.  There were many more changes to the first one that didn’t save.

I could have kept on painting and shading the last one, but I was a little frustrated about it dumping the one hour of work I did on the previous one.  Honestly, the free version of this program works better than the pro.
