My essay:

A GivingTrip would not only impact my life in an amazing way, but would impact many others.  I blog about rethinking good things we have and appreciating them.  Creating challenges to show people how we can make a difference in this world, even through the smallest actions, is something I love to do.  I teach my kids that actions are their vote for what they believe in.  We regularly go on mission trips to help the homeless and drive to Mexico to help orphans.  My favorite part is telling people about the trips, inspiring them to do the same thing.

It’s a chance for you to join us on a Giving Trip. Fifty TOMS fans will be selected through this online contest and will travel with us to join our Giving Partners and help give shoes in the communities they serve.

We give shoes year round with our Giving Partners (humanitarian organizations). And several times throughout the year, we bring TOMS employees and community members with us on Giving Trips. During these trips, we help our Giving Partners place new shoes on the feet of kids. The trips also give everyone an opportunity to see firsthand the work that our Giving Partners do 12 months a year, integrating TOMS Shoes into larger programs to improve education and health.
