It seems as though every time I get one thing off my plate, they come back and bring friends. Is everything on my plate attached to a bungee cord? That might just be the case.
I’m actually 2 days behind in blogging due to my Mexico trip, so I’m really on day 344. I’m playing catch up. Life is too short to be so busy all the time. Everyone seems to understand that in Mexico and when I go down there, I can so easily adapt to the no-time-structure. I love it. I miss it. It needs to exist here.
OK I have to be blunt and honest…also I feel like crap. No one forced you to do these daily blogs, no one force you to do…well…anything. You seem to think Mexico is the cure all magical pill to minimalism. It’s minimal because it’s all it CAN be. 50 years from now when Mexico becomes a super economic power (ok probably not but still) these magical simple people will be buying flat screen TVs and big cars just like in the US. You give these people credit for being simple when in all honesty it’s all they know. It’s NOT by choice. Don’t get me wrong I am in no way saying they are not good people. I am sure they are. They deal with what they have.

Yes, I agree with you on the fact that they deal with what they have and that they would buy flat screen tv’s if they could. I don’t think it’s a cure all magic pill to minimalism. What I do think is that there are lessons for us to learn. They could learn from us, we could learn from them. I’m learning that having more stuff is not going to make me any happier in this life. Their minimalism is not by choice, but mine can be.
As for the blog, you’re also right about that. Nobody is making me blog this stuff, nobody forced me to not retail shop, and we’ve met. Nobody really forces me to do much of anything I don’t want to do. I’m might be kidding myself that there’s some value here, and maybe there’s not, but it’s time I’ve chosen to use in this way and if God likes it and sees something here, He will use it for good.
Yes there is alot of value here. Can’t count how many people have replied that this blog has helped them….it even helps me. God liking it *shrug* would not see why he wouldn’t but honestly not sure he surfs the net. I could see him on netflix or hulu watching old reruns of Nat Geo…screaming “Oh you guys! you have it all wrong!”
As always…Love ya

He doesn’t have to surf the net, as he knows everything on it. If he didn’t, he might read my blog. It could happen. I wonder what his comments would be? He would shop at Aldi. ;)
Probably a good thing for me he doesn’t reply. :P
